Our baby

Until we get the hard copy version I'd like to keep track of milestones and special moments here. While our baby girl is 6 weeks old today there is so much happening. I just read on babycenter.com that the baby should smile at us within this week or very soon. But our little Lotus has been smiling at us since she was 4 weeks old. Even with baby #3, the sleepless night, my healing body, tending to her two older brothers...that smile makes it all worth it. Some other important details:

Kundalini Lotus born on June 18th at 7:20 pm at UMC here in Tucson Az. She was 20 inches long and weighed 8.2 pounds. As with most breastfeeding babies she dropped weight within the first week and we had to go back to the doctor 3 times to check that she was gaining weight appropriately. They were also concerned about her jaundice (big shock) again popular with breastfed babies. They didn't have to put her under the lights like they did for Maxx.

We stayed for one night in the hospital and had so many visitors again. We induced over the weekend so it would be convenient for everyone, especially the boys. We just couldn't conceive of a plan to wake up in the middle of the night and all drive over to the hospital.
